Dance Rock n Roll

This is basically a freestyle dance that evolved from West Coast Swing, whereas Jive developed from East Coast Swing.

With the advent of Bill Haley, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry and their peers, during the late 1950s, came the dance form of Rock n Roll.

Although it declined along with the music trend in the UK, it remained popular in Europe, where it has developed into a skill that combines the bounce of Jive with a gymnastic prowess that is awesome to watch.

Social Rock n Roll does not have to be of a gymnastic form, but should display the same energy and verve for dance!
